SSEC - GOES App Review
The SSEC - GOES App is a free lifestyle app available on Android that offers near real-time GOES (Geostationary Operational Environmental Satellite) imagery and related data from NOAA and academic researchers. The app is developed by UW-Madison Space Science and provides visualization powered by the SSEC RealEarth™ platform.
The SSEC - GOES App provides the latest available imagery (GOES-16) and allows users to select products to display by category, name, and time. The app features a pan and zoom map interface that dynamically adjusts as per the user's preference. The app also displays the user's current location on the map. Users can adjust transparency and composite multiple layers and can animate by relative or absolute time steps. The app also allows users to save custom favorites.
